RESEARCH

My research is focused on human health in the context of natural history, working to deepen understanding of how genetics, the environment and our health are connected. It has always been challenging to exactly define the meaning of “healthy”. Answering this complex question requires an interdisciplinary approach, considering how human health has changed over time through the processes of evolution and how these processes continue to affect health. Applying integrative research framework at the intersection of population and evolutionary genetics, molecular anthropology and evolutionary medicine, my research focuses on the health of modern human populations and works to inform and empower people about their own health.
